Definition of administrative controls
- Administrative controls (or work practice controls ) are changes in work procedures such as written safety policies, rules, supervision, schedules, and training with the goal of reducing the duration, frequency, and severity of exposure to hazardous chemicals or situations.

Why need risk control?
-The hierarchy of risk control is a system of control measures used to eliminate or reduce exposure to hazards, which has five levels of control measures. It is used when undertaking a risk assessment, to decide on which precautions are needed to control the risks posed by the hazards.

Types Of Administrative Controls

 Safe work procedures
- Use standardized safety practices. periodically reviewed.

 Supervision & training
- Training on safe work procedures should be offered.

Job rotation
- Reduce the time that workers are exposed  to a hazard.

Housekeeping, repair & maintenance programs
- Housekeeping includes cleaning, waste disposal and spill cleanup.

Hygiene
- can reduce the risk of toxic materials being absorbed by workers or carried home to their families.

Hierarchy of Hazard Control

-The Hierarchy of Controls was developed in a number of different standards over the last 20 years or so. The idea was to provide a common structure that would provide guidance to designers when controlling risk.

1) Safe work procedures

example- work procedures

 Explanation:
-Workers can be required to use standardized safety practices.
-The employer is expected to ensure that workers follow these practices.
-Work procedures must be periodically reviewed with workers and updated.

2) Supervision

 *Safety and the supervisor
 Explanation:
- Employees who exercise supervisory functions shall, to the extent of their authority, furnish employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm.
-They shall also comply with the occupational safety and health standards applicable to their agency and with all rules, regulations, and orders issued by the head of the agency with respect to the agency occupational safety and health program.

3) Job rotation

*Job rotation evaluator

Explanation:

-Job rotation should be used with caution and as a preventive measure, not as a response to symptoms.
-The principle of job rotation is to alleviate physical fatigue and stress of a particular set of muscles and tendons by rotating employees among other jobs that use different muscle-tendon groups.
-If rotation is utilized, the job analyses must be reviewed by a qualified person to ensure that the same muscle-tendon groups are not used.

4) Housekeeping, repair & maintenance programs

*At workplace

Explanation:
-Keeping everything clean and orderly is a project that’s never finished, and some of the items that most frequently appear on facility inspection reports relate to poor housekeeping.
-Even though the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) doesn’t require training on housekeeping, employees who know why a tidy workplace is important will be more diligent in their housekeeping efforts.
-No one OSHA standard addresses housekeeping, but many rules do include housekeeping provisions.

5)Hygiene

*CHEMICAL Hygiene Plan

 Explanation:
-Hygiene practices can reduce the risk of toxic materials being absorbed by workers or carried home to their families.
-Street clothing should be kept in separate lockers to avoid being contaminated by work clothing.
-Eating areas must be segregated from toxic hazards.
-Eating should be forbidden in toxic work areas.Where applicable, workers should be required to shower and change clothes at the
end of the shift.

What will happen if risk not control?
- Place at our work will be mess and hard to do a work
-  The working procedures will not be arranged properly as based on what have been planned
- Workplace will be dangerous with all sharp or chemical over the whole place
- Lacks of skilled workers that have been trained

CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, we have know the definition of administrative control. We also have learnt about importance of risk controls. Furthermore, we have know a few type of administrative control. Last but not least, we have know what will happen if risk not control so we need to take a serious action about this thing especially when doing any work at any place.
